Before the interval, the film looks like the Corsican chapter of Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’. While after the interval, this film becomes a cocktail of Sooraj Barjatya and Karan Johar, which is threaded by Luv Ranjan in the style of Priyadarshan. The first part of the film has beautiful beach, heroine in bikini, hero in swimwear, songs that make you dance. It’s all soothing to the eyes, but it all seems aimless. Whenever Ranbir Kapoor has played the role of a broken man on screen, he has looked very handsome. His silence speaks volumes. But here he enters a new territory that Kartik Aaryan has mastered over the years. The high-octane romance, the high-octaneness and monologue after monologue. Ranbir has probably talked more in this film than in any other film till date. It is interesting to see this style of his personality. He looks great with Shraddha, but both need to work on their chemistry. Shraddha is seen on screen this time uninhibited and enthusiastic. Dimple Kapadia and Hasleen Kaur stand out in the crowd. Boney Kapoor has very little to do. As long as the film is, the characters could have been fleshed out a bit more.
