MSSC: Modi government released this scheme for women, know its benefits

Taking a step towards women empowerment, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a new savings scheme for women investors in the Union Budget 2023-24. This scheme will be called Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC).
With a tenure of two years and a fixed interest rate of 7.5%, it will offer deposit options up to Rs 2 lakh in the name of women or girls with partial withdrawal options.
The scheme will provide deposit facility for women and girls, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in the budget. Presenting the budget in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Sitharaman said, “To celebrate the nectar festival of independence, a one-time new small savings scheme, Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, is to be launched.”
The Mahila Samman Savings Certificate will be made available for a one-time period of up to two years or till March 2025, to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
“It will offer deposit facility up to Rs 2 lakh in the name of women or girls for a tenure of 2 years (up to March 2025) at a fixed interest rate of 7.5 per cent with partial withdrawal option,” he said.
