Nawazuddin’s transgender look in Haddi took 6 months to prepare

Mumbai Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui impressed the audience with his transgender look in the upcoming film ‘Huddi’. This picture is going viral on social media. Although the film’s team took about 6 months to prepare the look.

Radhika Nanda, who has produced the film along with Sanjay Saha, shared that initially it was very difficult for the actor as it took around 30 minutes to get dressed in the saree and around 3 hours to prepare the entire look.

He said: He (Nawazuddin) wore saree for the first time. He used to shoot for hours in the same saree look. We also used prosthetics in the process, but the idea was to keep the look as natural as possible.

The film is considered a landmark film in the representation of the queer community in Bollywood. Praising Nawazuddin’s honesty, discipline and dedication to play the lead role in ‘Haddi’, the producer shared: We used around 80 sarees during the entire shoot. Nawazuddin was overjoyed to see himself in the mirror for the first time, as he had never seen himself this way, which helped him feel closer to his character.

He said, he understood how difficult it is for a woman to get up in that dress every day and do household chores. It took us about 6 months to achieve this look after going through several makeup artists.

Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and produced by Sanjay Saha and Radhika Nanda under Aanandita Studios, “Huddi” will release in late June.(IANS)
