Budapest. India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has once again brought laurels to the country. He has now created history by winning the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships. He has become the first Indian athlete to achieve this feat at the World Athletics Championships.

Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in his second attempt with a best throw of 88.17m. He beat Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who won the silver with a best throw of 87.82m.

Jakub Valesh of the Czech Republic won the bronze medal with a throw of 86.67m. On the other hand, Kishor Jena of India had to be satisfied with the fifth position.

Jena managed a personal best throw of 84.77m. DP Manu finished sixth with a throw of 84.14m. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra for this achievement.
