News of change in the release date of Maidan, now in September

Awaiting release since last three years, director Amit Sharma’s Ajay Devgn starrer Maidan has got changed so many times that the audience is now wondering whether the film will ever release or not. Titled Maidan, Ajay Devgn’s film is based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Syed Abdul Rahim was associated with the Indian national football team from 1950 to 1963. Ajay Devgan is playing the role of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim in the film.

Along with the makers of the film, Ajay Devgan is also confident of the success of his film. His last released film Bhola, which was also directed by him, did not do well at the box office. This situation is when the film Drishyam-2, which was released before Bhola, had achieved success in doing business of more than 200 crores at the box office. The action-packed Bhola was rejected by the audience.

According to the winds that are now blowing in the cine corridors regarding Maidan, now this film will not be released on June 23, but will hit the theaters on Thursday, September 7. However, till now no official information has been given by the makers or Ajay Devgan or the director. It is noteworthy that the film was first scheduled to release on December 11, 2020, which was extended to August 13, 2021. Sharing a poster of the film on social media, Ajay Devgan tweeted, 2021 Independence Week. An untold story that every Indian would be proud of. August 13, mark the date. After this, its release date was changed again. Ajay shared the first look of the film and wrote, “This is the story of the golden phase of Indian football and its biggest and most successful coach.” In cinemas on 3 June 2022.

Maidan was announced to be screened on June 23, 2023, in a round of screen date changes, which is also now in the news for changes. There is speculation about the release of Maidan on September 7, as it is Janmashtami on this date, which will benefit the film. At the same time, due to Thursday being September 7, the film will get one more day on the weekend, which will increase the film’s earnings. Along with this, it is also being said that due to the release of Maidan on June 23, it will clash with Om Raut’s Adipurush, which is releasing on June 16.

Directed by Amit Rabindranath Sharma, Maidan is a biographical sports drama inspired by Indian national football team coach and manager Syed Abdul Rahim, who is considered the architect of Indian football. Originally a teacher by profession, he was a good motivator and his tenure as coach is considered the “Golden Age of Football in India”. He led the Indian team to the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic football tournament and helped India win It became the first Asian country to achieve this position.

The film is co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, Akash Chawla and Arunav Joy Sengupta, with screenplay and dialogues written by Savin Quadras and Ritesh Shah, respectively.

Apart from Ajay Devgan, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and well-known Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh and will also release in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
