Nitin Desai Funeral: The Bollywood industry is still in shock over the news of the shocking death of renowned art director Nitin Desai. The director was found hanging at ND Studio by his colleagues on 2 August. The next day, in the postmortem report, the cause of death was stated as hanging. His body was taken to ND Studio in Karjat at 2 pm for the last rites. Desai’s last rites have been done, he has merged in Panchatatva. Mourning the demise of the legendary art director, several Bollywood stars including Aamir Khan, producer Ashutosh Gowariker visited ND Studio to pay their last respects.

Nitin Desai is survived by his wife Naina and three children. Besides him, other family members, all dressed in white, were present at the spot. They all looked inconsolable. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan prayed with folded hands, then went to meet Nitin Desai’s family members. He welcomed everyone separately and hugged them. When Aamir Khan arrived, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker was already there wearing a white shirt. Please tell that Ashutosh Gowariker worked on many projects with the late art director throughout his career. Some notable films in which he designed sets include Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar.

Nitin Desai’s children became very emotional

Nitin Chandrakant Desai’s children – son Siddhant and daughter Mansi were seen bidding an emotional farewell to their father. He was cremated at ND Studios, the studio he founded in 2005. Many Marathi film personalities and politicians reached the studio to attend his funeral. The postmortem report of the Bollywood art director was done by a team of four doctors on Wednesday. Raigad police said, “The postmortem of art director Nitin Desai has been done by a team of four doctors. According to preliminary findings, the cause of death is hanging. Further investigation is underway.”

Madhur Bhandarkar also paid tribute

Famous director Madhur Bhandarkar, famous for films like Fashion, Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji, and others also came to pay tribute to the late art director. Nitin Desai worked extensively in Hindi as well as Marathi film industry. Several popular faces from the Marathi film fraternity including Subodh Bhave and Mansi Naik were also present to pay their last respects to the celebrated art director. One of the best art directors in the industry, Nitin Desai worked on some notable films throughout his career, including Slumdog Millionaire, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bajirao Mastani, Devdas, Jodhaa Akbar, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Dostana, Lage Raho Munna, Munnabhai MBBS are included. His last film as an art director was the epic drama ‘Panipat’ directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.

Nitin Desai’s company was on the verge of bankruptcy

It was told in media reports that Nitin Desai was under stress due to financial issues and his company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Apparently, his company was under a loan of Rs 252 crore. The police are still investigating the art director’s death. Raigarh SP said, “The equipment we found at the spot, including mobile phones and other accessories and electronic equipment, has been seized and we are examining them.” BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde was a close friend of Nitin Desai, he said in an interview, “I used to talk to him often and give him advice. I told him how Amitabh Bachchan had faced a huge loss and had to start fresh again.” We told him that even though the studio was attached due to debt, he could start afresh. Very sad to hear about his death. I spoke to him the day before yesterday.”
