Now there will be no dearth of original content in Bollywood films and web series, producer Mahavir Jain has found a way

Actually, now filmmakers have also started efforts to collect original content. Well-known filmmaker Mahavir Jain has tied up with the digital platform Prakriti of Hindi stories in this regard. Under this, producers will make films and web series on the original stories of writers published on copy. In this way writers who write stories on one hand will get a bigger platform. On the other hand, the Hindi film industry, which is struggling with the dearth of original content, will also get a lot of new stories. Ranjit Pratap Singh, CEO and Co-Founder of Prakriti said, ‘We and Mahavir Jain will work together, in which we will find stories for web series and movies and then try to make them.’

Original content should come

Tell that Bollywood people are already being accused of not being able to make original films and presenting remake content of South. In this regard, the experts of the film world say that it is true that the Hindi film industry is struggling with the lack of original content these days. On the other hand, producer and film business analyst Girish Johar says, ‘Till Corona, the Hindi audience did not know about the remake films of South, but now the audience who have seen all the South films on OTT, before the release of the Hindi film. It is soon known that it is a remake of a South film. In such a situation, the Hindi film industry desperately needs original content. Talking about the initiative to source new content for the Hindi film industry, Ranjeet says, “Good stories run for many years in many formats in many places. Iron Man, for example, began in America as a children’s comic. But now Iron Man is not just for kids, not just in English. Comics, books and audio books should all be made on good stories. Podcasts, movies and games should also be made on it. But in the initial stages you have limited money, so you do the most important thing first. Then we focused on literature and text. For the last six months, we have started working on audio visuals, movies and web shows.

Writers will also benefit

Writers associated with the film industry always complain that they do not get paid as much as their hard work. If films are made on the stories of copywriters, how will they benefit? Regarding this, Ranjit says, ‘Unless the copy was earned, the creators did not get any money. But whenever the copy has earned, its creators also earn. Be it money from a film or from any model of web series, comics and literature. At present, the producer has to take a decision to make a film or web series on the stories of our platform. For example, if a producer says that he wants a story of such a genre, which will be liked by the youth of UP and Bihar and the main character should be an IAS officer. We then search our database for stories that have high readership and ratings. Then we give such selected stories to the producer, on which the producer has to take a decision. By the way, we buy the stories that are performing well on the copy in advance from the writer. But if a film or web series is made on it, then the writer earns extra on it.
