Pankaj Tripathi was not Amit Rai’s choice for OMG 2
This film is very different and for this I want to thank Akshay Kumar. He told me this story during Kovid. Akshay Kumar, writer Chandraprakash Dwivedi, and writer director Amit Rai were on the zoom call and Akshay narrated the story to me. When I found it a bit strange, he told that after getting Kovid, he was quarantined with this script, so he remembers the whole script. I would also like to mention that director Amit Rai was not sure that I can do this role because he saw my role as Kaleen Bhaiya in Mirzapur, but Akshay sir was sure that I can do this character. On the third day of the shoot, director Amit Rai realized that I am perfect for the role and shared this with me.

OMG 2 releases in over 1500 screens in India
OMG 2 is releasing on more than 1500 screens across India. Though it is struggling to match Gadar 2, the advance booking sales of the film are better than Akshay’s last theatrical release Selfie. As per a report, OMG 2 has sold around 113K tickets till 5 am today. It works out to around Rs 3.3 crore.
Akshay Kumar to clash with Sunny Deol at the box office
Along with OMG 2, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s much awaited film Gadar 2 will clash in the theatres. According to the reports, Akshay’s film was left far behind in the race.

OMG 2, which was one of the most awaited films of the year, finally hit the theaters today. Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi are in the lead roles in the film. It also stars Yami Gautam, Pavan Malhotra and Arun Govil. Directed by Amit Rai, it is a sequel to the 2012 comedy drama of the same name.
