Los Angeles (USA). ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ dominated the Oscars this year… with Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scharnert winning Best Director and Michelle Yeoh winning Best Actress. On the other hand, Brendan Fraser received the Best Actor Award for the film ‘The Whale’.

Hee Ke Huy Quan won in the Best Supporting Actor category and Jamie Lee Curtis won the Best Supporting Actress award for the film ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’. Daniel Cowan and Daniel Scharnert also received the award in the category of ‘Original Screenplay’. Yeoh (60) became the first actress of Asian descent to win the Oscar award. She is the first black woman to win the Best Actress award in the last 20 years. Accepting the award, she said, “I would like to say to all women, don’t let anyone tell you that your time has passed.”

Talking about India, this time Indians also played their sting in Oscars. The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Indian film ‘RRR’ created history by winning an Oscar in the Best Original Song category at the 95th Academy Awards. Tamil documentary ‘The Elephant Whispers’ won the first Oscar for India in the ‘Documentary Short Subject’ category. However, the Indian documentary on climate change ‘All That Breathes’ missed out on winning the award in the Best Documentary Feature category. Daniel Rohr’s ‘Navalni’ beat him.
