Javed Akhtar recently made headlines on the internet when he talked about 26/11 in Pakistan and mentioned how your country has not forgotten or forgiven you for being a part of the brutal attacks in Mumbai, India. Noted lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar has said that the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks did not come from Norway or Egypt but are still roaming freely in Pakistan and when India talks about the horrific incident of 2008, Pakistanis should not feel bad. Akhtar was speaking at the seventh Faiz Utsav organized here in the memory of famous Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, the video of which is doing the rounds on social media. This statement of Javed was discussed all around and people also praised him. He was praised for his bravery in speaking publicly in Pakistan while participating in the Faiz Mela in Lahore. Javed Akhtar even said that how we Indians welcome all Pakistani artists to India but till date Lata Mangeshkar has not been invited to your country.

Now Pakistani actor and singer Ali Zafar has slammed Javed Akhtar for his comment and called it insensitive. Ali was trolled by Pakistani users for posting a video of him attending a Javed Akhtar concert in Pakistan thanking him for attending as he was unaware of his comments. Ali clarified on his Instagram that he was not aware of Javed Sahab’s comments.

Ali criticized Javed Akhtar’s comments calling them insensitive and wrote on his Instagram post, “Guys, I love you all and really value your praise and criticism equally. Faiz was present at the fair And I didn’t know what was being said until the next day when I saw it on social media.”

The post further read, “I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani will appreciate any statement against their country or people, especially in an event organized to bring hearts closer. We all know That’s how much loss Pakistan has suffered and is still suffering.” At the hands of terrorism and such insensitive and unnecessary remarks can deeply hurt the sentiments of many people.”

Javed Akhtar also reacted to the comments made in Pakistan on the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai, claiming that everyone present there agreed with him.
