Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathan is rocking the box office in India and across the globe. Since the Corona period, Bollywood films were continuously flopping. The films made under the biggest banners were dying in the theatres. It had become very difficult to draw the audience to the theatre. Apart from The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, no Hindi film had even touched the 100 crore mark since 2020. After a long drought, Shah Rukh Khan finally managed to revive the theatres. Fans are especially excited to see their favorite superstar in the lead and in action after a gap of four years. No wonder it is raining money at the box office. On Republic Day 26 January, Pathan managed to earn a whopping Rs 70 crore in India.

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan has registered the biggest ever opening for a Hindi film in India and worldwide, and looks like the film’s second day collection has set a new record. According to Box Office India the film earned around Rs 70 crore on Thursday, which was a holiday on account of Republic Day. This is a big jump according to the figures of the first day. The publication reported that the exact figures could be even higher as various regions in the south witnessed huge crowds on the second day of the film’s release.

Bollywood Hungama reported that the film has earned Rs 67-69 crore on Republic Day. The publication reported that Pathan could enter the Rs 200 crore club in the opening weekend itself. Trade analyst Komal Nahta shared the numbers of three national multiplex chains (PVR, INOX and Cinepolis) on Twitter and claimed that on the second day the film earned Rs 32.40 crore from these chains alone.

In comparison, YRF’s Thugs of Hindostan earned Rs 29.25 crore on its second day of release. According to Bollywood Hungama, and the same studio’s War earned Rs 24.35 crore on its second day. War and Thugs both gave two of the biggest opening days in the history of Hindi cinema, but were eventually outdone by Pathan.
