Pathan has broken almost every box office record in Hindi cinema with its stupendous opening. The film has earned over Rs 230 crore in its first two days. Has done a net collection of Rs 127 crores in India. Before this, no Hindi film has earned even Rs 80 crore. A new report quotes an insider from Shah Rukh Khan’s house Mannat, who gives a glimpse of the star’s reaction to the film’s success.

Pathan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is produced by YRF Spy Universe. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham apart from Salman Khan’s cameo. It has been a stupendous success at the box office and is a success of sorts for Bollywood after a few years.

A report quoted a source from Mannat as saying, “Shah Rukh is thrilled beyond words. His team was expecting the film to open big, but the numbers are out of the ballpark. No one expected the film to break records so soon.” The report added that the source also revealed that Shah Rukh’s son Aryan was the first to tell him that Pathan would be a big hit. Aryan, who is making his debut as a director soon, saw the film at an early screening a few weeks ago.

Pathan’s promotion campaign has been a throwback to the pre-social media, pre-digital days, with stars doing no interviews or city visits. Apart from Shah Rukh’s AMA sessions on Twitter, the sole promotion has been done by Yash Raj Films through their YouTube releases of trailers, songs and a few videos of the team. Even after the release, apart from a strange tweet, the team remained silent. It is being claimed in the reports that now seeing the success of the film, Shah Rukh Khan may soon hold a press conference regarding the film. Although the exact details have not been confirmed.
