New Delhi. Ahead of the Festival of Lights, digital platforms are filled with new exciting series and movies. Which will keep you glued to your seat.

From Ishaan Khatter starrer ‘Pippa’ to Abhishek Bachchan starrer motivational story ‘Ghoomar’, here is a list of five titles on various OTT platforms that caught IANS’ attention this week.

Tale of Tales, ‘Valaatti’ is a Malayalam adventure comedy drama written and directed by Devan Jayakumar. It features the voices of Roshan Mathew, Raveena Ravi, Soubin Shahir, Sunny Wayne, Saiju Kurup and Aju Varghese. The makers have used real dogs as actors in the film without VFX. It will be streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from November 7 in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Vigilante

Korean series ‘Vigilante’ stars Nam Joo-hyuk, Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Joon-hyuk and Kim So-jin. Based on Kim Gyu-sam’s Never webtoon of the same name, the series follows a model police academy student who protects the law during the day, but lives as a vigilante at night. It was released on Disney Plus Hotstar on 8 November.

‘Pippa’

War film ‘Pippa’ starring Ishaan Khatter is a thrilling tale of a historic moment in history, the ‘Battle of Garibpur’ during the India-Pakistan War of 1971, which was pivotal in Bangladesh’s struggle for independence. The film stars Ishaan alongside real-life war hero Captain Balram Singh Mehta along with Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan in lead roles. This film is based on the book ‘The Burning Chaffies’ by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. It will release on Prime Video on November 10.

‘Ghoomar’

With an inspiring story, the film stars a stellar cast like Abhishek Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Saiyami Kher, Angad Bedi and features a special appearance by Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by R Balki, Ghoomar is produced by Hope Film Makers and Saraswati Entertainment. This is an emotional story with many layers. In ‘Ghoomar’, Saiyami plays Anina Dixit, a talented cricketer whose dreams are shattered in a tragic accident in which she loses her right hand. A former Test cricketer Paddy (played by Abhishek) becomes her coach and helps her become a one-armed spinner for the first time, inspiring her to play for the Indian national team.

The coach gives him new hope, trains him with unconventional techniques and invents the Ghoomar bowling style to change his fortunes. ‘Ghoomar’ shows how people can overcome tough times and overcome all obstacles to get another chance at success. It will release on November 10 on ZEE5.

‘Winona Season 1’

It is the story of Wyatt Earp’s great-granddaughter who fights demons and other creatures. With her unique abilities and a group of dysfunctional allies, she is the only person who can bring a paranormal phenomenon to justice.

The first season focuses on Winona fighting the Avengers who kidnapped her older sister Willa from their home. It will be released in Hindi on MX Player on November 15.
