Jaipur (Uttam Hindu News): In a thrilling last-minute match in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match played at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium here on Sunday, Patna Pirates managed to achieve a 39-39 draw against Dabang Delhi.
Delhi Dabang’s Ashu Malik took the game by storm with a super raid in the eighth minute to beat Patna Pirates’ defensive trio of Manish, Ankit and Krishna. Manjeet executed a brilliant super tackle in an attempt to prevent an all-out and kept his team in the game.
Delhi Dabang KC enforced the first all-out, taking a lead of 16-10. This prompted Patna Pirates to regroup and they improved their performance. Despite weak performance in the beginning, Sachin contributed raid points. The key factor was Malik, who scored 9 crucial points, giving Delhi Dabang KC a six-point advantage at halftime.
Malik’s raiding dominance continued in the second half as well, due to which Patna Pirates faltered. A second all-out soon followed, giving Delhi Dabang a commanding lead of 28-19.
Despite a strong start, Delhi Dabang KC faced resistance from Patna Pirates in the final quarter, leading to a collapse in their numbers. Mohit made a crucial super tackle to maintain his lead, but Ashish got a yellow card for aggressive play.
Then, Patna Pirates scored an all-out with three minutes remaining and narrowing the gap to four points. As the game neared its conclusion, both teams opted to play defensively, ultimately resulting in a tie.
