Ahmedabad. India missed a golden opportunity to become the only country to win two men’s ODI World Cup titles on home soil at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.

The victory which the whole country was expecting turned into a painful defeat. The tears of joy that were to be seen in the eyes of the Indian players were instead seen of sadness as the Kangaroos won the final match and broke India’s dream of winning the trophy.

The most successful player for Australia was Travis Head (137), who wrote the story of India’s defeat on the basis of his century. His brilliant batting troubled the Indian bowlers a lot.

In this match, be it batting, bowling or fielding, Australia completely dominated Rohit and Company. At the same time, the Indian team was seen lagging behind.
