Radhika Apte said- Even now people want to go to the cinema and watch movies, we can bring such a balance in OTT and cinema

Are you missing the release of your film in theatres?
I love watching myself on the big screen. It’s a completely different feeling. But OTT has its own big advantage that it can be seen by a lot of people. That’s why this is a huge advantage for OTT.

The comedy genre has always been a hit. But nowadays it is also expanding. Like spy comedy, horror comedy and dark comedy etc. How do you see it?
There is no one genre in a film, it has many categories. For example, comedy, drama, thriller, so I do not understand how we fit a film in one genre. Then their trends keep on coming and going.

Has the thinking of the audience really changed after Corona, that only selected films are able to run in the cinema?
No, I dont think so. Actually, the launch of Kovid and OTT also happened at the same time. After Kovid, people have got a chance to watch so much content sitting at home. So I really think going out and watching a movie is very expensive. Then many things depend on it. what the audience likes.

Your film was shot during the second wave of Corona. Any experiences of that dreadful period that you would like to share?
Those times were difficult as well as scary. The second wave was very bad for India. We all know someone who has lost a loved one. It was a dark time for many people. It was also necessary to shoot in it, because the business of many people was related to it. Work had to be started because no one’s house can run without work. We had to work very carefully. The time of two-three years was bad for everyone. Although I did not panic, because we had to go according to what was happening. We have to keep working, life goes on.

Corona taught everyone something or the other. What did you learn from that difficult period?
I think before covid we used to give more priority to our work, but after covid our family has become important for us. Now I want to spend more time with my family. Now I am taking time off to spend time with family and friends. Apart from this, spending quality time with yourself, getting enough sleep, eating and drinking and paying attention to your mental health are now a priority.

How was your experience playing the role of a housewife?
Had a great experience. You know it has a comedy, spy thriller genre that people have never seen before. So this was a new idea for me. So it was a lot of fun doing this film. It also connects with people. We see around us that many women dedicate their whole life by making compromises.

What thought came to your mind while doing this role? Who was your inspiration?
For this, I have got inspiration from many women. My parents, relatives, friends and all the other people I meet on a daily basis have been my inspirations. There are crores of women housewives in our country, so we see many examples, but they do not get credit, they are not given much importance. I didn’t even have to do any special preparation for this role. In fact it is such a grassroots role that everyone connects with it. Second, our schedule was also very tight, because during that time Kovid was also going on. Because of this, there were many difficulties and we could not rehearse much. But it was fun.

The process of trolling of celebrities on social media has intensified. In the last meeting, you had told that you silently observe social media and react only on useful things. Tell us something about your social media experience?
I never read anyone’s troll on social media. I don’t even know who is trolling whom. I don’t spend a lot of time on social media, so I have to think about social media like before.
