The film premiered on Netflix on Friday, May 12, and the streaming giant made an announcement about it on Instagram. The caption read, “A fearless mother, her undying love for her children and a relentless fight. Watch Rani Mukerji wow the world in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, now streaming on Netflix. #MrsChatterjeeVsNorway.”
Meanwhile the film did decent business at the domestic box office but had the biggest ever opening for a Hindi film in Norway. According to Box Office India, “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway has taken the biggest opening ever for a Hindi film in Norway having a local setting. The previous record was Raees but that was set in five days as against three days The record was held by Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which was comfortably beaten by Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.
BOI said, “The film has also outperformed Pathan in Norway and it has scored a decent $600k in overseas markets, which is more than the high and it will surely be looking to do better than that film in the long run. “
