Social media is one of the most used platforms by people including celebrities. Although it is an easy and popular form of interactive tool across the world today, there have been times when we make mistakes in it. It’s not just us but there are moments when even celebrities become victims of accidental social media failure, resulting in significant backlash and criticism.
One such example recently caught the attention of fans when Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh accidentally tweeted the wrong picture on a promotional post. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hint, Ranveer Singh, while promoting Lakshadweep tourism, things went awry as he inadvertently uploaded a photo of the Maldives and not the Indian island.
Sharing the picture of the exotic island, Ranveer wrote, “Let’s make this year 2024 to explore India and experience our culture. There is so much to see and explore in our country’s beaches and beauty. Let’s go to India and explore the Indian islands. Let’s see India.”
However, netizens were quick to point out that the photo shared by Ranveer is not from Lakshadweep but Maldives. “You are promoting Indian islands by putting up the picture of Maldives. What is your problem Ranveer?” One user wrote while sharing a screenshot of the now deleted tweet. Ranveer, in a quick reaction, deleted the post and shared it again, this time without any picture. However, it seems like netizens were in no mood to spare the Simmba actor.
Many people also reacted to the new post and said things like “Too late to remove, internet always wins”, “Maldives photo posted and removed”, “Dude, you were supposed to promote Indian islands, but you Posted photos from there and added comments like “Maldives!”, etc.
Notably, Ranveer Singh is not the only celebrity to follow this line. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Kangana Ranaut, among others, have also joined the ‘Visit Lakshadweep campaign’ under the hashtag #ExploreIndianIslands.
Ranveer Singh, last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, has some exciting projects in the pipeline, including Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 and S Shankar’s next.
This year let’s make 2024 about exploring India and experiencing our culture. There is so much to see and explore across the beaches and the beauty of our country.
Come on India let’s #exploreindianislands
let’s see india
