Recipe – Delicious Tawa Pulao – Dainik Savera Times

Material
2 cups cooked basmati rice
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 large tomato, finely chopped
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, capsicum), finely chopped
2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
2 tbsp tawa pulao masala (easily available in shops or at home)
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
salt to taste
fresh coriander for garnishing
2 tbsp oil
lemon slices for serving
Method
- Place a tawa or wide, flat pan on medium flame. – Add oil and let it heat.
- Add cumin seeds in hot oil. When it starts crackling, add finely chopped onion and green chillies. Fry the onion until it turns golden brown.
-Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute. Add mixed vegetables and cook until they become soft and slightly crispy. - Add finely chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. Cook until tomatoes become soft and oil starts separating.
- Add tawa pulao masala and mix well. Let it cook for a few minutes to absorb the flavours.
- Put cooked basmati rice on the pan. Mix everything together gently, making sure the rice is well coated with the spices and vegetables.
- Sprinkle garam masala and stir it one last time. Garnish with freshly chopped green coriander.
- Remove the tawa pulao from the flame. Serve hot, garnished with coriander leaves and lemon slices.
