Tomato – 3-4
Gram flour – 1 tsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
Black peppercorns – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Cloves – 2
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Bay leaves – 2
Cardamom – 2
Oil – 3 tsp

To make tomato broth, first wash the tomatoes and then wipe them and cut them into pieces. Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf and cinnamon and fry all the spices for some time. After this add ginger-garlic paste to it. Fry it till the raw smell of the paste goes away.
Now add 1 teaspoon gram flour to these spices and roast it till the color of gram flour turns golden brown. After this add tomato and coriander and mix it. Now let the tomatoes cook till they become soft. This may take 3-4 minutes. Meanwhile, add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder and crushed black pepper to this mixture and mix. Then mix salt as per taste.
When the spices start to smell wet, add 2 cups of water to it. Now cover the pan and let the broth cook on low flame for about half an hour. It has to be boiled till the tomatoes are fully cooked. Mash the tomatoes completely while stirring occasionally. After the specified time, turn off the gas and sieve the mixture to separate the pulp and juice. After this the juice and pulp will be separated. Now put the pulp in a mixer jar and blend it. When the smooth paste is ready, strain it once again with a sieve and discard the tomato seeds. Now mix this juice with the old juice. Now boil the broth for another 2 minutes. Tasty and nutritious tomato broth is ready. Garnish it with green coriander leaves and serve.
