Potatoes (small size) – 500 grams
Tomato chopped – 3 cups
Onion chopped – 2 cups
Cinnamon – 2 pieces
Fresh cream – 3 tbsp
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Cardamom – 2
Green chili – 3
Green coriander – 3 tbsp
Kashmiri red chili – 6
Cashew pieces – 1/2 cup
oil – as required
salt – as per taste
Saunf – 2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 10 cloves
Cumin – 1 tsp
Cloves – 5
Method
To make Punjabi style Dum Aloo, you have to clean and chop tomatoes, onions, green chillies and coriander leaves as well. Now put tomato pieces and a little water in a pan and heat it. Allow the tomatoes to cool after cooking for 10 minutes. Now put the boiled tomatoes in a mixer jar and grind them to make a soft puree.
After this prepare onion paste. Pour some oil in a pan and heat it. When the oil becomes hot, add cardamom, cinnamon and cloves and fry them. Now add onion paste to it, after that add tomato puree and let it cook.
Now you have to fry the potatoes by putting them in oil. Add sugar, fresh cream and salt as per taste to the gravy and mix well. Now you have to cover the pan and leave it for 3-4 minutes. Punjabi style Dum Aloo is ready.
