As we all know, the Indian Constitution came into effect on 26 January 1950 and since then Indian people celebrate that day as the Republic Day of our country. Although India got independence on 15 August 1947, there was no national constitution at that time. But after much deliberation and thought, a committee headed by Dr. BR Ambedkar presented a draft of the Indian Constitution, which was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950.

I would like to quickly share some interesting facts about the Indian Constitution. Did you know that the Indian Constitution, which has 444 articles divided into 22 parts, 12 schedules, 118 amendments and 146,385 words in the English language version, is the longest written constitution of any sovereign state in the world? The assembly received a draft constitution from the committee in November 1947, but it took more than two months to finalize it amid discussions and amendments. The process finally ended on November 26, 1949, when the Constitution was approved by the Constituent Assembly. Prem Bihari Narayan Raizada was the calligrapher who created the work in the book. It was published by Dehradun, photolithographed at the Survey of India offices, and illustrated by Nandalal Bose and other artists. It is still kept in helium-filled cans in the library of Parliament House. In addition, the Indian Constitution declares nine fundamental rights as fundamental human rights of all.
I would like to conclude by saying that India is a democratic country. People living in a democracy have the opportunity to choose who will lead their country. Even though significant progress has been made so far, there are still some issues that need attention, such as pollution, poverty, unemployment, etc., that we all can help solve these issues and make our country better. Can. I am grateful, Jai Hind.
