Ritvik Bhowmik said – The day I leave this world after doing my work, people should remember me

All the projects you have done so far have been successful in one way or the other. When an artist enters the industry and has a good start, how big a task is it to choose the next projects?
I can honestly tell you that my management team consists of Amrit Pal Bindra, a producer of ‘Bandish Bandits’ and his co-producer Dimple, both of whom manage me. Both of them have brought me up in this industry in a way. He has taken care of me in the industry till now. So this work is his. My job is just that the character that reaches me, the work that I have to do, I do it with full hard work, with heart, with passion, with passion. I don’t think about anything more than this. I have only been in the industry for two-and-a-half years now. I think now is not the time to think, now is the time to do. That’s why I want to do well in whatever character I get today and I try to give my 100% in it. I wish that every single day that I spend on the set, be my best and super day. I don’t think about anything more than that. To be honest, it is not because I cannot think, but right now I feel it is not my need. I think for 4-5 years that I should keep working because my management and PR team are doing this work. My job is just to act, that’s all I think about.

You did OTT shows, which were well received. There is variety in your work. Also worked in films. What have you enjoyed so far that you would love to do again?
I think the best thing that I want to do again and again is that feeling that when a project releases, that time you get love from all corners, the whole world is appreciating your work, that feeling where You feel that someone has seen and liked your work, I want that feeling to come every four-five months. This never happens because only one show or film is released in a year. I get this feeling only once in a year. Then I think I could not give two-three releases this year. So I will try to work faster, give two to three releases every year so that this feeling is available after every few months.

When someone enters the industry, he has a dream in his mind, so what has been your dream?
My dream has been that the day it’s my last day on set, the day I do my job and leave this world, then people remember me saying that this guy did a good job, this guy did the set once. Yes, it made people happy with its acting. I’m not being diplomatic at all. To be honest, even when I used to do theatre, I used to think that people should leave the theater happy. If they are not happy, then I am doing something wrong. Because entertainment is all about keeping them happy, giving them a reason to cry and laugh. If an actor does not live up to all these things, then his work is of no use. So I hope I live up to the expectations of the audience. I hope that I will keep doing good work till the end of my life.

You have also done theatre. It has been seen and it is also said that the theater that comes here has a sincerity in its work. How much has helped you move from theater to the big screen?
I cannot tell completely that what are the things that I have done in the theatre, which has benefited me on the big or small screen. But for nine years I have been on stage, almost every year for 15-18 years I have done a play. But I can definitely say that the practice I have done in the theatre, the Riyaz I have done, has come in handy for me. Because of that practice, I have a confidence that how to do a character, in what new way. Because of that Riyaz, I am able to perform any character with my head high, I do not feel confused, nor do I feel any fear or insecurity. After that the director has the biggest responsibility.

Your last two series were liked a lot, ‘Jehanabad’ has also been liked by the people. How was your experience with this series?
‘Jehanabad’ has been such a series for me, in which the audience gets to enjoy every genre, whether we talk about drama, comedy, politics or violence, all genres are seen in this series. When I read the script, I was crying and laughing while reading it. I felt that emotion while reading the script of ‘Jehanabad’. I played the character of Abhimanyu Singh, who is a professor.

Tell us something about your upcoming projects?
We had recently announced ‘Bandish Bandish Bandits’ season 2, so the shooting for its season 2 is going on. And there are one or two projects that I have signed, but can’t reveal about them now.
