Karan Johar had recently revealed in an interview with Mid-Day that the story of Rocky and Rani’s love story may have been sub-consciously inspired by Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. The filmmaker had said, “Maybe subconsciously (I was inspired). There is great friendship in their marriage. I have had dinner with him, eaten with him, traveled with him. And there is a wonderful kind of comfort in their harmony. So I felt that it is actually not impossible for people coming from two different demographics of society to find love. For example, when we are looking for a relationship, we put ourselves in places where we are comfortable. But you can fall in love with anyone anywhere.”
