Rajkot (Uttam Hindu News): Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah has revealed that Rohit Sharma will lead Team India in the T20 World Cup to be held in June. This was said in a report. “I want to promise you that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in 2024 (T20 World Cup), we will hoist the Indian flag in Barbados,” Jay Shah said at the unveiling of the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
He also reportedly confirmed that Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain in the T20 World Cup.
On the absence of Virat Kohli in the Test series against England, BCCI Secretary said, “Virat is not the kind of player who will leave the series without any major need. Give them rights.” Jay Shah also talked about the importance of Ranji Trophy, saying, “Everyone has to play Ranji Trophy before getting selected in the Indian team or IPL franchise. Ranji will be made mandatory for every player.”
