Ronit Roy made this disclosure recently in The Kapil Sharma Show. Ronit had appeared on Kapil’s show to promote his film Shehzada. Along with Karthik Aryan and Kriti Sanon were also there. During the interaction here, Kapil Sharma told everyone that Ronit Roy was offered the film ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, but he did not do the film because of ‘Student of the Year’.
Then Ronit Roy told the whole story. He said, ‘Yes, I was selected for ‘Zero Dark Thirty’. I was selected without any audition. He told me that Kathryn Bigelow, the director, had seen my work and wanted to sign me for the film. I was shocked that an Oscar winning director has chosen me for his film. But his films are already scheduled and all my dates were with Karan Johar.
Karan’s team did not change the dates, it was a big shock
Ronit Roy further said, ‘I asked Karan Johar and his team to shift the dates because this was such an opportunity for me that comes once in a while. Who wouldn’t want to work with an Oscar winning Hollywood director? But he refused. Karan didn’t deny, but people who were working with Karan refused to shift the dates. That’s why I had to turn down the Hollywood film. And when I called up Karan Johar to ask when he would start shooting for Student Of The Year, he told me that he is not shooting right now. So this was the biggest blow. Karan’s film didn’t even start on time and yet I couldn’t even do a Hollywood film.
Ronit Roy had said – there was remorse
Earlier in 2016, Ronit Roy also revealed that he was offered films like ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ and ‘Homeland’. But he could not do those films, which he regrets. Now let’s see what Karan Johar will say on this revelation of Ronit Roy. Talking about Ronit Roy’s career, he made his debut as a hero in the 1992 film ‘Jaan Tere Naam’. This film was a blockbuster. But Ronit Roy got recognition from supporting characters. He was well-liked in films like ‘Udaan’, ‘Boss’, ‘Ugli’ and ‘Kaabil’. Ronit Roy will be seen in ‘Shamshera’ and ‘Liger’ in 2022. This year he will be seen in ‘Gumrah’ and ‘Bloody Daddy’ apart from ‘Shehzada’.
