According to reports, the police got information that some people have reached the cinema hall to stop the screening of ‘Maamannan’ and are creating a ruckus. It is said that the protesters were from the Tamil Desia Forward Bloc. They were continuously shouting slogans to stop the screening of the film. The protesting people were also raising slogans against the ruling DMK. In such a situation, the police immediately took 20 people into custody to maintain peace.

A week before the film’s release in Theni area, a bike rally was also taken out by the community, urging theater owners not to screen the film in their cinema halls.
Madras High Court rejected the ban application
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Madras High Court dismissed a petition seeking a ban on the release of Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vadivelu’s Tamil film ‘Mamanan’. Justice K. Kumaresh Babu rejected the plea of filmmaker Ramasarvanan of OST Films seeking a stay on the film’s release. Ramasarvanan had alleged that Udhayanidhi was trying to release ‘Mamanan’ without completing ‘Angel’, which would cause him losses.
