Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was discharged from Delhi’s Apollo Hospital on Wednesday after successful brain surgery. Isha Foundation has expressed gratitude for the love and support Sadhguru has received from everyone during this period. Dr. Vineet Suri, Dr. Pranav Kumar, Dr. Sudhir Tyagi and Dr. S. Chatterjee’s team of doctors performed surgery within hours of admission to relieve bleeding. After the surgery, Sadhguru was removed from the ventilator. According to Isha Foundation, Dr. Vineet Suri, senior consultant neurologist at Apollo Hospital, examined Sadhguru and advised him to undergo an MRI, which revealed massive bleeding in his brain.
A source at the medical facility said the spiritual leader left the hospital a few days after brain surgery due to “life-threatening” bleeding in the skull.
In a video clip, Sadhguru can be seen coming out of the hospital as his followers welcome him. The 66-year-old is the founder of Isha Foundation. He has launched campaigns like ‘Save Soil’ and ‘Rally for Rivers’ for environmental protection.
Isha Foundation had said in a statement that Sadhguru underwent an MRI scan on March 15, which revealed massive bleeding in the brain. However, he refused to cancel his commitments, including his session at the India Today Conclave, which he attended while under the influence of powerful painkillers and anaesthetic.
The statement said Sadhguru suffered multiple hemorrhages in the brain before being admitted to hospital due to severe headaches. Later, he underwent emergency brain surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. Dr Vineet Suri, who led the surgery, said Sadhguru has shown steady progress, and his brain, body and vital parameters have improved to normal levels.
