Directed by KGF fame Prashant Neel, Salaar is a highly anticipated action-thriller starring Telugu superstar Prabhas in the lead role. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, the film also stars Shruti Haasan in the lead.
According to the latest tweet by Sraone K, the overseas rights of Prashanth Neel’s film Salaar have been sold for Rs 70 crores. The report is taking the film industry by storm. It also reflects the confidence of the distributors and buyers in the film, which is a testament to the ability of the director and the star cast.
Earlier, the overseas rights of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR were also sold for Rs 70 crore, while the overseas distribution rights of Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Leo were sold for around Rs 70-75 crore.
Over the years, the overseas market has become an important revenue source for Indian films. With the Indian diaspora spread across countries like USA, UK, UAE and Australia, many films are making huge amount of money overseas.
Also, Prabhas has a massive fan following in the west. Salar is expected to do exceptionally well in these areas. The latest reports of the film’s overseas rights being sold for such a huge amount have also raised the hopes for the film.
