Sandhu Football Club defeated Maruti Club 2-0, Chandigarh UT News in Hindi

Chandigarh. Sandhu Football Club won the first match of Gilco Trophy for Chandigarh Men’s Football League being played on the football ground of Sports Complex-46. They defeated Maruti Football Club 2-0. The first league match played between the two teams was one-sided and players of Sandhu Football Club kept attempting goals. The team got its first success in the fourth minute and Gagan scored a goal.

Maruti Football Club had barely recovered when Gagan scored to put Sandhu Club ahead 2-0 in the 15th minute. By the end of the first half, the team was in the lead and this lead continued in the second half also. Sandhu Football Club registered a one-sided win with 2-0.

St. Stephen’s Football Club won the second match of the day. They defeated GGS Football Club 5–0. Wang opened the team’s account in the 12th minute and Aditya provided the second breakthrough in the 25th minute. Harshit scored in the 35th minute and Aditya made the score 4-0 in the 47th minute. Sangdeep scored a goal in the 62nd minute and gave the team a 5-0 victory.

There was no result in the third league match and Uttarakhand Football Club played a 1-1 draw with Velocity Football Club. Both the teams had to share the points. Kumar scored a goal for Uttarakhand Club in the 32nd minute and the team was leading 1-0 till half time. Rahul equalized for Velocity in the 76th minute and the match ended with the score 1-1.
