Pant batted amazingly and scored 51 runs in 32 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw gave an excellent start to Delhi. Both of them made a partnership of 93 runs for the first wicket. This partnership was broken when Warner was out on the ball of Mustafizur Rahman after scoring a half-century. Delhi got its first blow in the tenth over. After this, in the very next over, Prithvi Shaw also returned to the pavilion with a personal score of 43. Marsh could score only 18 runs in 12 balls with the help of one four and one six. Whereas Stubbs was out without opening the account. At the other end, Rishabh Pant remained steadfast and took the innings forward. He scored 51 runs. All-rounder Akshar Patel supported him well. At one time it seemed that the score would cross 200. But in the middle overs, Chennai bowlers tightened their grip on the batsmen and did not allow them to score runs. Warner hit five fours and three sixes in his innings of 52 runs.
IPL 2024: Pathirana took 3 wickets
Chennai’s bowling was not very good. No wickets were taken in the first nine overs and runs were scored at a run rate of around 10. But later the bowlers put some brakes on the pace of runs and also took wickets. Deepak Chahar bowled four overs and could not take a single wicket while giving 42 runs. Mathisa Pathirana once again bowled brilliantly and took three wickets. He was also quite economical. Ravindra Jadeja got a breakthrough, but he gave away 43 runs in four overs.
