Sapna’s sister-in-law has filed a case against her husband, mother-in-law and Haryanvi dancer in Palwal’s women’s police station for demanding a car as dowry. The sister-in-law of Palwal resident Sapna Chaudhary has said in her complaint to the police that she was married in 2018 to Karan, a resident of Najafgarh, Delhi. The complainant said, at the time of her marriage, her family had given a huge amount of gold and also organized the wedding in a hotel in Delhi, which cost around Rs 42 lakh at that time.

Sapna’s sister-in-law accused of harassing

The victim alleges that she was harassed and beaten for dowry several times. Sapna Chowdhary’s sister-in-law said that when she gave birth to her daughter, her family gave Rs 3 lakh, silver and new clothes, but Sapna’s family kept asking for a car. When their demands were not met, they started torturing her and in May last year, her husband, in an inebriated state, beat her up and sexually assaulted her. A case has been registered against the victim’s husband Sapna Chaudhary and her mother-in-law Neelam in the women’s police station. DSP Satendra told India Today, “We have not made any arrest in the matter so far and the matter is being investigated.”
