With block prints inspired by Rajasthani history, especially the Kalbelia community and Bandhani, the latest collection represented craftsmanship in terms of silhouettes, ranging from classic collection outfits to new, contemporary reimagined lehengas and peplum sets, heavily embellished for men Kurtas and many more that suit the innate sartorial sensibilities of the modern day man and woman.
Talking about the collection and his show at Lakme Fashion Week, designer Puneet Balana said: “For me, what is most important while designing a new collection is my roots, my environment. I need look no further than Jaipur and Rajasthan for inspiration. There is much that can be learned from our history. I really hope that my next collection will reflect our culture.”The designs showcased on the ramp were styled with stunning jewelery from JKJ Jewelers in Jaipur, which went with each of the outfits from the ‘Utsav’ collection. They were looking very beautiful together.
