Siddharth Ray’s real name was Sushant Ray and he was born in a family where he used to hear and watch everything about films since childhood. Siddharth was the son of producer-director V Shantaram’s first wife Vimla Shantaram’s daughter Charushila Ray. Siddharth’s father Subroto Ray was a Bengali economist. Subroto Ray also played the guitar brilliantly and he met Charushila during one of the recording sessions. Well, Siddharth was born in a family where Esho was everything for comfort. He used to live in a nice house in Dadar. Siddharth’s father used to be the Chief Economic Advisor in the Bombay Port Trust.

Siddharth started working in films as a child actor and the first film was Chaani. This film was directed by his maternal grandfather V Shantaram. Siddharth appeared in his first Bollywood film ‘Thodi Si Bewafai’ as a teenage couple opposite Padmini Kolhapure in the lead role. After this he appeared in ‘Vansh’, for which he also received a lot of praise. Siddharth’s role in the film ‘Baazigar’ with Shahrukh Khan was definitely small, but as much as he was able to win the hearts of the audience completely in his character. Siddharth married South Indian actress Shantipriya in the year 1992, who is the sister of famous actress Bhanupriya. Within 5 years, both became parents of two children. Ray died of a heart attack when he was only 40 years old.
