However, only 18 days are left to avail the benefits of this scheme, as this FD scheme of SBI is going to close on 30 September 2023. In this scheme of State Bank of India (SBI), senior citizens are offered higher interest than ordinary investors. Under SBI WeCare Scheme, senior citizens get the benefit of additional interest up to 0.50 percent. Through minimum investment in this scheme, you can get good returns in 5 to 10 years. SBI WeCare Special FD scheme was introduced as an option for senior citizens to keep their money safe during Covid times.

That means in this scheme the elderly get 1 percent more interest. Currently, interest up to 7.50 percent is available on SBI’s WeCare scheme. Interest rates on SBI’s regular FD range between 3.50 percent to 7.50 percent for tenures ranging from 7 days to 10 years.

The investment deadline in the special FD scheme SBI WeCare (SBI WeCare Fixed Deposit) has been extended by three months. This special scheme, which was earlier started during the Covid period for senior citizens, was to end on June 30, 2023. But the bank had extended its deadline to 30 September 2023.
