The Kerala Story: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to hear a petition seeking a stay on the release of the film ‘The Kerala Story’. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal and advocate Nizam Pasha informed a bench of Justice KM Joseph and Justice BV Nagaratna that the trailer of the film has been viewed one crore 60 lakh times. This film is releasing on Friday i.e. 5th May.

This film has got the certificate and the board has approved it. It is not like someone got on the dais and started talking nonsense. If you want to challenge the release of the film, you should challenge the certificate and that too through the proper forum.”

On this, advocate Sibal said that he will do whatever is necessary. Justice Nagaratna said that the petitioner should first approach the High Court. Advocate Pasha said that the film is going to release on Friday, so there is no time. The bench said, “This is not a ground. In this way everyone will start coming to the Supreme Court. Pasha said that is why he has filed an intervention application in the hate speech case. Significantly, this film is based on conversion.
