Now even if a sequel to Ra.One will be made, Ra.One will still be the old girlfriend. I have no problem with making a sequel to Ra.One, but there should be a good story for it, which both Shah Rukh Khan and I would like.

’20-20 years time to develop the story’

Regarding the increasing craze of sequel films nowadays, Anubhav says, ‘If you are planning to make a sequel by just writing 2 or 3 words in front of the title of a film, then let me tell you that sequels are not made like this. To make a sequel, you have to learn from Hollywood people, where people spend 20-20 years to develop the story of the sequel. However, the sequels of most of the films there are pre-decided and the sequel is announced only in the climax of the first film. However, I am also sure that very soon we Hindi film industry people will also learn to make sequels. Actually, we Indians believe a lot in Jugaad. That’s why we will also learn to juggle making sequels. Not only sequels, nowadays we are also trying our hand in Movie Universe by learning from Hollywood. All movie universes are being made from Bollywood to South.

‘Sequel does make sense’

Noted filmmaker Anand Pandit has already announced the sequel of his Kannada film Akshar, which was recently released in several languages ​​including Hindi. Talking about the trend of sequels, Anand says, ‘A sequel film gives a recall value to the audience. Second, the audience thinks the film will be good. Like make Total Dhamaal or Dhamaal Returns after Dhamaal movie, then people know that it is a sequel of Dhamaal. This gives you a tool for marketing. Also, a good result is seen in the collection of the first week. However, it has to be kept in mind that if you make the sequel as a film, it will be good. But if it is made as a project, it will be a flop. For example, see Drishyam 2, that film ran even though it had neither songs nor action. According to me, we should follow the system of 80-90s, when the director and producer had passion to make such a film, which people would come to watch in theatres.
