Earlier this week, it was announced that Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to play the lead in Malayalam director Roshan Andrews’ next film Koi Shakha. In fact, industry buzz also suggested that Shahid had taken a pay cut to work in the project. If this was not enough, there were reports buzzing that the film in question would be a remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Mumbai Police. According to Bollywood Hungama, Roshan Andrew’s film Koi Shakha is not a remake of Sukumaran Prithviraj’s Mumbai Police. A source close to the film said, “There have been several reports claiming that Roshan Andrews’ film with Shahid Kapoor is a remake of Mumbai Police. However, this is far from the truth. The film titled No Doubt is actually an original script that has been developed. Things are still in the initial stage. Yes, the cast and script have been decided, but Andrews is keeping things under wraps. More details will be revealed once the shooting starts.
Currently, Shahid Kapoor’s recent release Bloody Daddy has released on OTT, and is garnering positive response. For Andrews’ venture, the film, which is tentatively titled Koi Shaak, will also star Pooja Hegde and will be bankrolled by Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films.
