Shahrukh becomes vagabond Romeo for Taapsee Pannu in the song Lutt Putt Gaya from Dunky

Mumbai The new single ‘Lutt Putt Gaya’ from Megastar Shahrukh Khan’s much awaited film ‘Dinky: Drop 2’ has been released. In this, Shahrukh Khan will be seen romantically with Taapsee Pannu in a Punjabi dance track.

Sung by Arijit Singh – who sometimes sounds like Mika Singh – the song is a peppy filmy number that is really perfect for dancing as well as expressing one’s romance, even if the love is unrequited.

Composed by Pritam, ‘Lutt Putt Gaya’ captures the essence of a very typical Bollywood song, a blend of complete Punjabi style, Bhangra, film music and some pop.

On the other hand, the video mainly features Shahrukh dancing in the streets in complete filmy style while walking with Taapsee in a dream and saying how she has stolen his heart.

Additionally, the music video also features the two and some other members of their ‘Ullu Ke Patte’ gang as he dreams of marrying Taapsee while having dinner with them.

There is also a very subtle symbolic comment in the video. There are flags of countries like Britain, Canada and Australia at the back and these flags are also shown on the shirts of some background actors. In a way, it reflects the mentality of the people of Punjab who always dream of visiting these countries.

Although the darker parts of the film have not been revealed, it also has some snippets of Taapsee being taught wrestling by Boman Irani and almost being kissed.

Apart from the typical tunes of film music, which no attempt has been made to hide in the song, it also adopts the Punjabi nature very well.

Inspired by real-life experiences, ‘Dinky: Drop 2’ is a socio-political drama about love and friendship that brings together five very different stories. It also has a mix of ticklish comedy.

Produced by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films, the film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Gauri Khan is the co-producer.

Written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani and Kanika Dhillon, the film is scheduled to release on 22 December 2023.
