Shahrukh Khan becomes the first Hindi superstar to attract 8 crore viewers to theaters in a single year

The year 2023 has been Shahrukh Khan’s year in every sense. Last year, he ruled the box office with his three films ‘Pathan’, ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Danky’. The superstar delivered two all-time grossers in a year for the first time in history. This has undoubtedly established him as the King of Bollywood. Shahrukh’s success is not limited to just the box office. Yes, because they have managed to attract 8 crore audiences to the theaters throughout the year, out of which Jawan has attracted 3.93 crore, Pathan has attracted 3.20 crore and Donkey has attracted more than 1 crore audience so far. With this, Shahrukh also became the first Hindi film actor to do so.

He not only delivered two all-time highest-grossing films ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’ in 2023, but also achieved a spectacular feat with his third hit Dunky, making him the first superstar whose three releases have crossed the iconic Rs 500 crore mark in the country. 1,000 crore worldwide and crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark in the same year. If we look at SRK’s three films, ‘Pathan’ started the year with a bang, earning Rs 524 crore (Hindi) and Rs 545 crore (all languages) in India, and made an impressive collection of Rs 1055 crore worldwide, Which also includes record breaking overseas earnings of USD 49.25 million. In such a situation, ‘Pathan’ continues to dominate as the highest grossing Indian film at the international level. While Jaawaan was released in June, which is the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India with an impressive nett collection of Rs 643 crore across all languages. Of this, Rs 580 crore came from the Hindi version alone, which is another record for Hindi cinema. Then, the superstar scored a hat-trick with Dunky in December and collected ₹410 crore worldwide in just 13 days, with the film projected to reach ₹460 crore or more by the end of its run.
