When Siddharth questions the couple about their best friend Kushal Punjabi’s suicide, Shilpa breaks down in tears as she talks about him. Though it has been more than 3 years since the late actor’s death, Apoorva and Shilpa are still unable to get over it. While talking to Siddharth, both of them recall meeting Kushal the night before he was found dead in the apartment.
What happened the night before death?
The ‘Pardes’ actor said, ‘He was with us the night before he committed suicide. He was absolutely fine, he had even bought a gift for Shilpa from Hong Kong. That phase was very risky. You can’t tell what a depressed person is thinking at that moment. That thought suddenly comes to mind that you don’t want to live in this world and then you take that step. A sudden decision is not right at all.
Shilpa Saklani cries when Kushal is mentioned
Apoorva told, ‘We still can’t talk about Kushal without getting emotional. He started trusting us and the only pain we had was how could he do this to himself. Whenever we talk about her, Shilpa cries and I get angry with her. When we went to his funeral, I didn’t cry because I couldn’t believe he had done this. We cannot express in words what went through us when he passed away.

During the conversation, Shilpa Saklani also said that Kushal was troubled by his broken marriage. Shilpa said, ‘Obviously the broken marriage took a toll on him. He was very, very, very upset. It is a big deal when someone is separated from his child. We all are parents now, we know, what it feels like to have a broken marriage and at the same time not being close to your child. He was telling me that I am going through a very bad situation, but no one thought that he would do something like this.
