Citing the Model Code of Conduct, Shivamogga’s counsel said that Kiccha Sudeep’s films and shows would have a direct impact on the minds of voters. In a bid to secure a historic victory in Karnataka, the ruling BJP is not only deploying political heavyweights on the campaign trail, but also invoking ‘star power’.
The saffron party has approached several Kannada actors to become star campaigners for next month’s assembly elections in Karnataka. Sources said that these include Vikrant Rona star Sudeep Sanjeev, who is also known as Kiccha Sudeep.
This will be Kiccha Sudeep’s debut in politics. Sources said the popular actor will campaign for the BJP across the state with a special focus on the Kalyan-Karnataka region. The Karnataka assembly elections will be held on May 10 and the results will be out on May 13.
