Shooting of Sunny Deol, Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Border 2’ will start in 2024

Mumbai (Uttam Hindu News): After the historic success of ‘Gadar 2’, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is all set to join actor Ayushmann Khurrana for ‘Border 2’. J.P. The film, directed by Dutta’s daughter, producer-writer Nidhi Dutta, is expected to begin shooting in the first quarter of 2024.
Sunny Deol played an important role in ‘Border’. He will once again lead the cast with a film set based on the historical backdrop of the India-Pakistan war of 1971.
The remaining cast is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
A source revealed: “Nidhi Dutta is also writing the script. Dutta believes that ‘Border 2’ will be the biggest war film ever made in the country. Unlike its predecessors, the film aims to showcase the collaborative efforts of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, offering a comprehensive perspective on the 1971 war. The story is expected to include personal stories of war heroes and martyrs, adding a human touch to the war.”
Groundwork for the film began in 2022, with the producer making several trips to Delhi to obtain necessary permissions from the Defense Ministry to shoot at multiple locations. These journeys were also important in ensuring authentic representation of historical events.
J.P. Dutta was adamant on creating a story that would do justice to the legacy of ‘Border’.
The film not only pays tribute to the historical events of the 1971 war but also explores the human stories that unfolded on the battlefield.
