Shooting: Shahu, Shiva make it to the World Cup team

New Delhi | The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the governing body of shooting in the country, has announced a 22-member squad for the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol to be held in Baku (Azerbaijan) from May 8 to 15.

This will be the fourth World Cup stage of this year. The third World Cup was recently held in Bhopal. The fourth will be held in Lima, Peru from April 11 in which India will not participate.

In a release issued on Friday, NRAI said that Shahu Tushar Mane has made it to the men’s 10m air rifle and Shiva Narwal has made it to the men’s 10m air pistol. These are the two new faces from the Bhopal World Cup team.

Shahu has replaced Divyansh Singh Panwar while Shiva Narwal has replaced Sumit Raman. Esha Singh has replaced Manu Bhaker in the women’s 10m air pistol. Manu will compete only in the 25m event in Baku.

The air rifle and pistol shooters are now preparing to take part in the two-week long national selection trials in Bhopal.(IANS)
