Mumbai Director-producer Karan Johar, who hosts the popular streaming show ‘Koffee With Karan’, recalls how he managed to skip the release event of ‘2 States’ and attend the destination wedding of actress Rani Mukherjee and filmmaker Aditya Chopra. .

Karan also told that Adi and Rani’s marriage took place in Manchester.

In the upcoming episode of the show, Bollywood stars Rani Mukherjee and Kajol will be seen gracing the show.

The two actresses shared the screen space in Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and they had a lot to discuss with the show host during the episode.

While talking to the actress, Karan told how he had attended Rani and Aditya’s wedding when his own production ‘2 States’ was about to release, starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles.

Destination weddings are in trend now, but Karan reveals the OG couple who were the first to do so in B-town.

Talking about this, Karan said, “Kajol, you knew Aditya even before Rani. He is my best friend in the whole world. We have to talk about the fact that when Rani and Aditya got married.

It was a destination wedding, when no one knew him, he started destination weddings of film stars. I don’t want to say anything on this, otherwise he will be angry at me like decades ago.

He continued, “Like, he told me, ‘I’m getting married, there are 18 people attending. If word spreads about this marriage, you will be the one behind it. The only person who will open his mouth is you, if I see this marriage is mentioned in any publication, newspapers were dominant at that time. I was very hyper and hysterical.

Karan said, “I had to lie to my mother, we had a release, it was April 2014, I will never forget it, ‘2 States’ was releasing. For some reason I had to miss the release of my film, Had to tell everyone I had an event in Manchester. But everyone was like, ‘On the release weekend, why are you going to Manchester?’ I said, ‘I have to go, I have to go.'”
