Dubai: Smriti Mandhana has jumped two places to become fourth in the list of women’s ODI batsmen in the latest ICC rankings. England’s Nat Shiver Brunt, Sri Lanka’s Chamri Attapatta and Australia’s Beth Mooney occupy the top three positions. Mandhana’s rise was helped by her consistent performances with the bat, especially in the bilateral series against Australia, where she showcased her potential with scores of 34 and 29 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
His brilliant performance not only led his team to victory but also took him up the ranking ladder. Aye Gardner fell three places to No. 22, while Phoebe Litchfield also dropped two places. Tahlia McGrath has moved up four places to 30th in the batting rankings. Meanwhile, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt suffered a decline and slipped to fifth place after a poor performance against Australia.
Opening the batting against the formidable Alyssa Healy and Co., Wolvaardt struggled and managed only seven runs at an average of 2.33. Her disappointing performance forced her to give up her previous ranking, paving the way for Mandhana to move forward.
