Amaravati (Best Hindu News): Veteran South Indian actor Suman Talwar has said that he will enter active politics. The actor announced at an event in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district that he would support the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana.
He did not specify which party he would support in Andhra Pradesh but indicated that he may rejoin the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Suman entered politics in 1999 by joining the TDP in undivided Andhra Pradesh. After not getting any recognition in the party, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2004. Since he did not get any significant role in BJP, he distanced himself from politics.
Suman recently met legendary actor and former chief minister N.T. Rama Rao’s birth centenary celebrations, defended Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s statement.
Rajinikanth had praised TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, drawing a strong reaction from the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
Suman had said that there was nothing wrong with Rajinikanth’s speech. He did not criticize any party or leader. The actor said that the superstar spoke the truth about Chandrababu Naidu. Rajinikanth had said that Naidu played an important role in the development of Hyderabad as an information technology hub.
Suman also said that ups and downs are common in politics. He also remarked that some mistakes were made during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule.
Suman has worked in 700 films in 10 languages in his career of 45 years. The 63-year-old is primarily known for his work in Telugu and Tamil films.
