Sports competition: Daughters of Bhagalpur and Chandi champion, Motihari show their talent in ‘Umang-2024’

The state level four-day sports competition ‘Umang-2024’, going on at Patliputra Sports Complex in the capital Patna, concluded on Wednesday. It started on February 18, in which children from different districts of the state participated in a total of 17 sports. Let us tell you that it was organized with the aim of mental and physical development of the students of all the Government Engineering Colleges and Government Polytechnic Colleges running under the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education.

Engineering colleges players honored

In this program, a total of 653 players in various sports selected at the divisional level from various Government Engineering Colleges participated and a total of 598 students from Government Polytechnic Colleges participated. It is known that in the last two days, in sports like Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Running, Long Jump, Shot Jump, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw etc., the qualities hidden within the children like team leadership, time management, Leadership was visible. In this, the top performing players of polytechnic colleges were honored on Wednesday evening. Whereas, engineering colleges players were honored on 19 February.

Will be played every year to boost morale

It was decided by the department that this game will be organized every year at the divisional and state level to encourage the children and to bring out the hidden talent within them. On the occasion, Secretary of Science, Technical and Technical Education Department Lokesh Kumar Singh, Director cum Special Secretary Udayan Mishra, Additional Secretary Md. Ibrar Alam, Officer on Special Duty Monica Thakur, Joint Director Dr. Ananth Kumar and Secretary of State Technical Education Board Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh were present. .

Patna got eight awards

In the match being held from February 18 to February 21, four teams from Patna became winners and four got the title of runner-up. In which the team of BCE Bakhtiyarpur got gold in the sprint 100 meter girls category in the Government Engineering College sports competition. Whereas, he was the runner-up in table tennis (single) and TT (double). At the same time, in the Government Polytechnic College sports competition, Kabaddi team of Narapo Patna-13, Krishna Kant and Sumit Kumar in badminton (doubles) and Kabaddi team in girls category got gold. Whereas, in the boys category, Annu Preeti became the runner up in volleyball team and shot put.

Bhagalpur and Chandi Engineering College Overall Winner
Bhagalpur College of Engineering and Nalanda College of Engineering Chandi became overall winners in the Government Engineering College Sports Competition on 18th and 19th February. Let us tell you that BCE Bhagalpur became the winner in Carrom and Table Tennis (singles) in the boys category and Kabaddi in the girls category. At the same time, he became runner-up in Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Relay and High Jump in the boys category and Badminton in the girls category. Government Polytechnic Jamui got the title of best institute
While representing Government Polytechnic Jamui in the Government Polytechnic College Sports Competition, Alisha Raj excelled in four sports. Motihari’s daughters shine
Pallavi Priya, representing the team of GP Motihari, became the winner by reaching the first position in volleyball in the Government Polytechnic College sports competition. Shraddha, Jyoti, Simran and Roshni of the team told that they started practicing in the college and due to their true hard work, they are also bringing gold for the institute. At the same time, the student here was also the runner up in Kabaddi. All are studying engineering in different branches.

Four players from Government Polytechnic Purnia dominated the state level Umang-2024. In long jump, GP Purnia student Himanshu Kumar secured first position in the state. He has won the gold medal.
