Sports Minister Thakur’s big announcement, digital certificates will be issued to players

New Delhi: Sports Minister Anurag Thakur announced on Thursday that the government will provide digital certificates to registered players across the country. This initiative will ensure transparency regarding the performance and participation of players. The digital certificate will acknowledge the players’ participation in competitions and will also be evidence of their achievements.

Thakur wrote on Twitter, “Players are the backbone of our sports structure and keeping this in mind, the Sports Ministry has taken an important decision of giving them digital certificates.” The Sports Minister also announced his plan to make things easier for the players and national sports federations. Was announced on August 29 last year. The NSF portal was also launched at that time.

Thakur said on Thursday that in line with the ‘Player First Policy’, National Sports Federations have been asked to provide certificates to the players through DigiLocker. He said, “This decision is to promote transparency and efficiency in the sports administration of NSF and to ensure proper maintenance of documents of players.” He said, “From June 1 this year, only certificates issued by sports federations through DigiLocker will be valid and any paper certificate will be used for government and other benefits.” Will not be accepted for.

We have suggested to the federations that their recognized units should also start issuing certificates through DigiLocker from January 1 next year. Thakur said that this will streamline the process of issuing certificates and reduce the administrative burden.
