Sourav Ganguly: Ishan, Shreyaswar deserves action: Sourav Ganguly

Kolkata, Circle Institute: BCCI’s decision to exclude Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the annual tournament is worthy, said former BCCI captain and former president Saurabh Ganguly. BCCI has exempted Iyer and Kishan from the annual test and this is a big decision. Both of them would have been participants in the One-Day World Cup campaign held in India last year. Ganguly said that BCCI’s decision regarding Kishan and Iyer would have been worthy. Contracted players are expected to play domestic cricket only. It is BCCI’s desire that he should play first-class cricket. I am surprised that Shreyas and Ishan have not played in major tournaments like Ranji Trophy. Players should play first class cricket. Then he further said, ‘Who has played the tour of South Africa in the middle and has not even played the series against England? I was surprised by his speech. The Indian Cricket Association is a member of the All Format Association and has big contracts in the ‘IPL’, despite this I am surprised that Ishan has not played.

Former India captain and former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has praised India captain Rohit Sharma to the brim. Ganguly would have succeeded BCCI president Rohit Sharma as the leader of the Indian federation. Because of his ability, we called him the captain and our decision was right, he has proved it with his performance, Ganguly said. Rohit Sharma would have been handed over the captaincy of the Indian ODI and T20 teams in December 2021. After that, within a month, he was also handed over the captaincy of Test Association.
